3月に約13年ぶりとなるフル・アルバム『愛は永遠-AMOR ES PARA SIEMPRE』をリリースし、東京での待望されたリリース・パーティーが決定。レゲエ・ダブのクラブとして国内有数のサウンドシステムを誇る新宿OPENでの開催となる。 DJには、ROJO REGALOの盟友であり、自らもGLOCAL RECORDSを主宰。JungleやDUB STEPを筆頭としたベース・ミュージックから、ルーツ音楽までをオリジナリティに溢れたストーリーで紡ぎ躍らせるGenta Minowaに、国内でも類を見ないほどのクンビア、チーチャの収集家であり、長年レベル・ミュージックのイベントのレジデントDJしても活動するTagood。Tokyo Sabrosoというトロピカル・ミュージック・クルーに所属し、最近ではチャンペータを起点としてスークースやベンガもセットに取り入れるGenki Arai。そして、ヴィンテージ・ハイライフに特化したDJパーティー「HIGHLIFE HEAVEN」を主宰し、年代を問わないハイライフ、スークース、そして現在進行形のアフロ・サウンズまでを鳴らすSHOCHANGが登場。ROJO REGALOのリリースを、様々な視点と選曲によって祝福する。 さらに、フードにはROJO REGALOのメンバーとも関係が深いラテン・ロッカーズ、COPA SALVOのメンバーでもあるYo SatoによるBAILEN TACOSも出店。手軽に燃料を補給して、いつまでも踊り続けることができるだろう。 都内ではなかなか体験することができないROJO REGALOのライブ・パフォーマンスを、この機会にぜひ目撃しに来て欲しい。 ********** ROJO REGALO, one of the leading cumbia bands in Japan, is coming to Shinjuku. Based in Osaka, ROJO REGALO—known as the “Cumbia Ninjas”—has earned immense respect both domestically and internationally for their unique musical style, which fuses authentic Latin sounds centered on cumbia and Afro-Cuban music with heartfelt, enka-style melodies. Having released their first full-length album in approximately 13 years, *Love Is Eternal - AMOR ES PARA SIEMPRE*, in March, they have announced a long-awaited release party in Tokyo. The event will take place at Shinjuku OPEN, a reggae and dub nightclub renowned for having one of the country’s premier sound systems. The lineup features Genta Minowa, a close ally of ROJO REGALO and head of GLOCAL RECORDS, who weaves a uniquely original narrative spanning from bass music—led by jungle and dubstep—to roots music, getting the crowd dancing. Also joining is Tagood, a collector of cumbia and chicha records unmatched in Japan, who has long served as a resident DJ at Level Music events. Genki Arai, a member of the tropical music crew Tokyo Sabroso, has recently been incorporating Sukus and Benga into his sets, building from a Champeta foundation. Also appearing is SHOCHANG, who hosts the DJ party “HIGHLIFE HEAVEN,” specializing in vintage highlife, and plays highlife, Sukus, and contemporary Afro sounds across all eras. They will celebrate the release of ROJO REGALO through diverse perspectives and curated selections. Additionally, the food lineup features BAILEN TACOS by Yo Sato—a member of COPA SALVO and the Latin Rockers, who have close ties to the members of ROJO REGALO.
