-Nari- Based in Tokyo since 2013, he is a core member of the ever-evolving collective CYK, a singular presence within the city’s house music culture. Deeply influenced by the roots of dance music — from jazz and soul to hip hop — he has built his career on a strong sense of groove and musicality. As part of CYK, he has invited artists such as Mall Grab, Baba Stiltz, Ross From Friends and Avalon Emerson to Japan, while shaping countless nights driven by connection and chemistry on the dance floor. He has performed at major festivals including Rainbow Disco Club, Fuji Rock Festival and Wonderfruit (Thailand), continuously navigating across genres and borders while presenting his interpretation of contemporary dance music. In his solo sets, he works from a broad understanding of house music, weaving together elements of disco, soul, afrobeat, jazz, R&B and hip hop. With warm low-end pressure, fluid transitions and a strong sense of space, he crafts long-form journeys that shift the atmosphere gradually yet decisively. He has appeared at events such as James Blake’s 1-800 DINOSAUR, rural, and DJ Nobu’s Future Terror. In 2024, he played a successful two-man show with Antal (Rush Hour), followed by a New York tour in May of the same year. Across all contexts, what remains constant is his belief in the inclusivity and transformative power of the dance floor. Whether playing for devoted music heads or first-time dancers, he approaches each set with focus and conviction. Alongside his DJ career, he continues to deepen his work in music production.
